We like to travel but as we have got older we are taking it a bit easier by cruising. On the 21 st of November we arrived by Easyjet in Venice for our cruise from there to Montvidio on MSC Sinfonia. We spent two nights in Venice before our cruise as planes are often late and to give us some time to wonder around Venice. We spend the two nights at Jolly Camping in town at Mestra just outside and a short bus ride from the city. The accomodation is basic 2 single beds shower and toilet in a mobil home. It cost €32 for two nights. There is a restaurant on site and resturants etc near by.
We caught the service bus a 15 minute walk from the camp site, then you can either walk or take the people carrier to the dock.
We checked in then we were directed to a bus, ship must be a bit out we thought but not a two hour drive away in Trief.! Found out later that due to flooding they were not able to dock in Venice.
The check in was fast and before long we had found our cabin 1042. We had been upgraded from a balcony to a junior suit. This cabin is a bit bigger, nice, bathroom has a bath with shower, we prefer a shower walk in wardrobes, we travel with hand luggage. We collect our cruise cards they were lying on the bed and then made our way to the buffet for lunch. As we were not sailing till late afternoon we went ashore and had a lovely walk arround Trief. The cruise terminal is in the centre of town.
Hi Moira! What are you up to these days? Have you been able to do any travelling recently? It`s so hard with problems at airports and having to quarantine.
ReplyDeleteBefore my husband died we cruised on the Hurtigruten from Bergen to Kirkenes - wonderful trip. And the year he died we river cruised from Amsterdam to Antwerp and back. Happy memories. I have been to Venice many times - magical city.
